What this site does

Frenzy Leagues publishes dynasty and redraft trade values for NFL fantasy football and a trade analyzer built on top of them. There is no editorial voice attached to the numbers — no bylines, no on-air personalities. The site is a tool, and the case for trusting it rests on being specific about how it works, not on who runs it.

How the valuation model works

Every player's trade value starts from a within-position curve of the shape floor + (100 − floor) · e^(−k·(rank−1)). The decay rate k and the floor are set per position to reflect scarcity: the pool of usable wide receivers stays fairly deep, so the WR curve falls off slowly, while the tight end pool thins out fast after the top handful, so the TE curve drops off a cliff. Cross-positional weights then convert those 0–100 within-position scores into one shared scale — otherwise a QB1 and a TE1 would price identically, which they shouldn't.

Those base values run through two more layers before they reach the site. The first is a set of dynasty age-decay curves: running backs start decaying at 25 (12% per year), wide receivers at 27 (8% per year), tight ends at 28 (7% per year), and quarterbacks at 32 (5% per year), reflecting how differently each position ages. The second is a genuine Value Over Replacement Player (VORP) computation — every player's value is measured against the value of a replacement-level starter at the same position, where "replacement level" is defined by your league's roster math (team count and starting slots per position). VORP is the right way to compare players across positions with very different depth charts, and that part of the pipeline does not change regardless of what feeds the base values.

The site shows its model version — currently sleeper-rank-proxy@1 — next to the numbers it produces. When the underlying inputs change, the version changes with them, so a value you saved or shared can always be traced back to the formula that produced it.

What feeds the model today — and what doesn't yet

Here is the part most sites like this don't say out loud: the public Sleeper API does not publish fantasy point projections. Its player endpoint returns roster metadata — team, age, experience, depth-chart slot, and a field called search_rank, which is Sleeper's own measure of how much attention a player gets across its user base. That field is a real, live, frequently-updated signal of market consensus. It is not a projection.

So today, the trade values on this site are a market-proxy valuation: real roster data run through the decay curves and VORP math described above, anchored to Sleeper's rank signal rather than to projected fantasy points. Expected Fantasy Points (xFP) and Fantasy Points Over Expected (FPOE) — the metrics that would let us say a player is outperforming or underperforming his opportunity — are not computed yet. Building them requires play-by-play data from nflverse, and that ingest doesn't exist on this site yet. We're saying this plainly because a model that's honest about its current limits is more useful — and more trustworthy — than one that quietly overstates what it measures.

Where the data comes from

Player identity, team, age, experience, and search rank are ingested from the public Sleeper API. Play-by-play and advanced usage metrics, once integrated, will come from nflverse, the open-source NFL data project. Every page that publishes a valuation states when its underlying dataset was last ingested.

Editorial stance

Frenzy Leagues does not run betting lines, odds, or sportsbook promotions, and it does not aggregate third-party video or highlight content. The site's only product is its own valuation math and the tools built on it. If that math is wrong, we'd rather fix the formula than the framing.
